Orion fueled for the first time with LNG

In the second ship-to-ship LNG bunkering operation to take place in Germany, Nauticor’s LNG bunker vessel Kairos has supplied DEME’s DP-3 offshore installation vessel Orion.

ZWIJNDRECHT, Belgium – In the second ship-to-ship LNG bunkering operation to take place in Germany, Nauticor’s LNG bunker vessel Kairos has supplied DEME’s DP-3 offshore installation vessel Orion.

The was the first ship-to-ship LNG bunkering operation at the Port of Rostock.

The Orion is being outfitted with a 5,000-metric ton (5,512-ton) crane at the Liebherr construction yard in the Port of Rostock.

The Orion is the fifth dual fuel vessel in DEME’s fleet, following three trailing suction hopper dredgers (Minerva, Scheldt River, and Bonny River) and a cable laying vessel (Living Stone).
