Masirah orders FSO for offshore Oman oilfield

Masirah Oil has contracted Wings Offshore in Singapore to convert the 750,000-bbl capacity Aframax tanker Mt Bull Papua to a floating storage and offloading vessel.

MUSCAT, OmanMasirah Oil has contracted Wings Offshore in Singapore to convert the 750,000-bbl capacity Aframax tanker Mt Bull Papua to a floating storage and offloading (FSO) vessel.

This will store crude oil produced during the early appraisal phase of the Yumna field in block 50 offshore Oman, in which Masirah has a 100% interest. 

Drilling of the Yumna 1 appraisal well is due to start next month.
