BP, Murphy contract Valaris drillships

Valaris plc has provided an update on its offshore drilling rig fleet.

LONDON – Valaris plc has provided an update on its offshore drilling rig fleet.

In the US Gulf of Mexico, Murphy has awarded the drillship VALARIS DS-15 (Renaissance) a one-well contract. It is expected to start in January 2020, with an estimated duration of 65 days.

Offshore Angola, BP has awarded the drillship VALARIS DS-12 a four-well contract. It is expected to start in April 2020, with an estimated duration of 200 days.

In the North Sea, Premier Oil has extended the contracts for two harsh-environment jackups. The VALARIS JU-248 (Gorilla VI) received a two-well extension, with an estimated duration of 140 days from May 2020 to September 2020. The VALARIS JU-123 received a one-well extension, with an estimated duration of 30 days from December 2019 to January 2020.

Offshore Australia, SapuraOMV has awarded the jackup VALARIS JU-107 a one-well contract. It is expected to begin in May 2020, with an estimated duration of 45 days.

Offshore Saudi Arabia, Saudi Aramco has extended the jackup VALARIS JU-88’s contract by 138 days from mid November 2019 to early April 2020.

After completing its contract in September, the semisubmersible VALARIS 5006 was moved to Malaysia where it is cold stacked and held for sale.

After completing its contract in September, the jackup VALARIS JU-68 was cold stacked and held for sale.

The jackup VALARIS JU-42 (California) was sold and retired from the offshore drilling fleet.

The drillships VALARIS DS-14 and VALARIS DS-13, which are under construction in South Korea, are now expected to be delivered 2Q 2022 and 3Q 2021, respectively.
