Speedcast to manage West Bollsta’s communications needs

OSLO, Norway – Seadrill has awarded Speedcast International a multi-year communications and IT solutions contract for the semisubmersible West Bollsta.
The rig, owned by Northern Drilling, operates offshore Norway.
Speedcast’s communications solution for the rig includes a dual-redundant C/Ku-band VSAT system, coupled with LAN/WiFi/Industrial WiFi and WAN services, and PABX service.
The West Bollsta will work in the North Sea from 2Q 2020 through January 2022, extendable to September 2022.
