DUBAI, UAE – Shelf Drilling has issued an update of first-quarter awards for its offshore rig fleet.
In January, the company secured a three-year contract offshore India from ONGC for the jackup Ron Tappmeyer, and a one-year contract for the jackup Trident 16 with Belayim Petroleum Co. (Petrobel) offshore Egypt.
Next up was a six-month contract extension in Nigerian waters (February) for the jackup Shelf Drilling Resourceful, followed in March by a three-year deal for the jackup High Island V that continues its current contract with Saudi Aramco.
In addition, the company completed the sale of two stacked rigs during 1Q. As of March 31, its fleet comprised 33 marketable rigs and four stacked rigs.
