Axess Group has signed an MoU with autonomous drones provider Nearthlab.

Over the past seven years, Axess has conducted drone inspections for offshore facilities including platforms, and vessels. This year, it became the first DNV-approved company in Norway for deployments of remote inspection techniques.

Under the MoU, Axess Group will use Nearthlab’s drones for inspections of offshore and onshore and wind farms in Scandinavia and Africa, with the data managed through Nearthlab’s cloud-based analytics platform, Zoomable.

Håvard Sletvold, group director – AIM at Axess, said: “From our experience, using drones for inspections has proven to improve efficiency and accuracy while also enhancing safety and lowering manpower requirements.”

Nearthlab claims its drones can shorten inspection times on wind farms to 15 minutes.
