OSLO, Norway— PGS has secured its second offshore wind farm site characterization contract for a project in the US on behalf of an unnamed renewable energy company.
The company will mobilize the Sanco Swift vessel in August for the 180-day acquisition campaign, which should complete by February 2024.
PGS will deploy its ultrahigh-resolution 3D (UHR3D) P-Cable system, which it claims provides more detailed subsurface data for shallower targets compared to traditional seismic acquisition methods.
P-Cable technology achieves UHR imaging of the subsurface by sampling the seismic wavefield at a high spatial and temporal rate, and it is targeted at offshore wind farm planning and marine minerals exploration.
