Completion of the second deck of Sofia's offshore converter platform took place in July 2022.
ABERDEEN, UK—Peterson will provide facilities management enabling shared access to the onshore converter stations for the Dogger Bank C and Sofia wind farms.
These are located on the Dogger Bank, 190 km offshore northeast England in the North Sea. Dogger Bank C is the third phase of the Dogger Bank Wind Farm, while Sofia will have an output of 1.4 GW.
Under Peterson’s three-year contract, the company will support maintenance, drainage and site security for the shared access areas of a 20-acre converter station construction site adjacent to Wilton International in Teesside.
Sofia Offshore Wind Farm is 100% owned by RWE, while Dogger Bank C’s owners are SSE Renewables (40%), Equinor (40%) and Vårgrønn (20%).
The projects’ teams are cooperating closely due to their proximity, including joint contracts for civil engineering and facilities management.
