SINGAPORE – An undisclosed renewables energy company has contracted Keppel FELS Ltd. to construct two offshore substations (OSS).

The contract is worth around S$110 million ($81 million).

The work scope comprises the engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning for the topsides modules of two OSSs. This excludes the OSS foundations, as well as certain electrical components to be furnished by the client. It is scheduled to be completed in 2024 and deployed in an offshore wind farm.

Keppel Offshore & Marine recently completed two OSSs for Taiwan’s Greater Changhua 1 & 2a offshore wind farms. It is currently building an HVDC converter station for offshore wind farms in the German North Sea as well as the first wind turbine installation vessel in the US.
