Lankhorst supplying strengthened mooring lines for North Sea Culzean wind turbine

Delmar Systems has subcontracted Lankhorst Offshore to provide mooring lines to Archer Wind for the Culzean field floating offshore wind turbine in the UK central North Sea.

TotalEnergies has commissioned the 3-MW turbine to produce clean power for the Culzean gas platform complex.

Delmar Systems has responsibility for the overall mooring arrangement for the turbine’s light semisubmersible floater hull, designed by Ocergy.

Lankhorst Cabral 512 polyester mooring lines will be installed at the location in 90 m water depth. This will also mark the first deployment of a new cut-resistant LankoShield jacket, designed to provide added protection to the rope both pre- and post-installation.

Archer Wind is the EPIC contractor for the project. A 2-km export cable will link the wind turbine to the Culzean platform center.
