LUXEMBOURG – Jan De Nul Group has sold the jackup installation vessel Taillevent to an undisclosed buyer.
The sale includes the vessel only, with the crew deployed to its other vessels.
During her time with the company, the 2011-built Taillevent executed offshore wind projects in Europe and Asia.
The company said the decision to sell is a result of the rapid change in future offshore wind component sizes, requiring larger and custom-designed installation vessels during construction.
It has two new vessels under construction. The jackup vessel Voltaire and the floating installation vessel Les Alizés are expected to be delivered in 2022.
Last year the company acquired the cable-lay vessel Connector from Ocean Yield ASA.
