BREMEN, Germany – Harren & Partner has added the jackup vessel Wind Lift I to its fleet, and launched SAL Renewables, an offshore wind maintenance and installation provider.

The Wind Lift I is a 2010-built dynamic positioning jackup crane vessel. The 114.87-m (376.87-ft) long vessel has a 500-t capacity, high outreach offshore crane, and a fully equipped accommodation block for up to 50 people.

Heiko Felderhoff, Managing Director of SAL Renewables, said: “Wind Lift I is a highly adaptable vessel. There are only few things that it can’t do, it’s kind of like a Swiss army knife.”

Matthieu Moerman, Head of Projects at SAL Renewables, added: “Megawatts capacity of wind parks keep increasing and old wind parks will need to be renewed with new turbines or decommissioned. With Wind Lift I we are not only targeting the installation and maintenance market but also decommissioning and upgrading of old existing wind parks.”

In addition to the Wind Lift I, the company also holds access to the DP-2 heavy lift vessel Blue Giant.

SAL Renewables is a sister company to SAL Heavy Lift.
