Equinor has permission from the Norwegian Ocean Industry Authority (Havtil) to implement gas lift without a gas injection compressor on the Gina Krog Field in the central Norwegian North Sea.
The location is on the Utsira High, just north of the Sleipner Vest Field, in 110-120 m water depth.
Gina Krog’s plan for development and operation was approved in 2013 and production started in 2017. The field has been developed with a fixed platform supporting living quarters and processing facilities.
Drilling is performed using a mobile jackup rig.
Oil production on Gina Krog has been declining, with gas lift used in certain wells to sustain oil output as high as possible.
In addition, Equinor has converted two injection wells to producers. The company aims to keep gas production at plateau while also maximizing oil production.
