LONDON – Last week Perenco UK and partner Carbon Catalyst confirmed offers of carbon storage licenses in the UK southern North Sea from Britain’s North Sea Transition Authority.

Further details of the areas covered will be issued following formal acceptance of the awards.

Perenco has been present in the UK’s southern gas basin since 2003 and claims to process almost 15% of Britain’s national gas production. It owns and operates 45 offshore platforms, 14 subsea wells, and a network of more than 2,400 km of pipelines connected to onshore terminals at Bacton and Dimlington on the English east coast.

Currently the company produces about 40,000 boe/d in the UK, including about 14,000 bbl/d from the Wytch Farm Field onshore/offshore southern England.
