ABERDEEN, UK — Parkmead has reached agreement with its partners to raise its stake in UK central North Sea license P.2400 from 30% to 50%.
The permit includes the Skerryvore structure, and the co-venturers are Serica Energy (20%) and CalEnergy (30%).
A planned exploration well will be Parkmead’s first as operator, with approval having come through from the UK’s North Sea Transition Authority to enter the next phase of the license.
The well will target the main stacked exploration prospects in Skerryvore, at Mey and Chalk level, which could contain 157 MMboe.
There is additional prospectivity at the Ekofisk and Jurassic levels. A discovery could be tied into existing or planned infrastructure.
Nearby, Harbour Energy has approved a multi-well subsea tieback of its Talbot Field to the J-Area, and NEO Energy is working on a redevelopment of the decommissioned Affleck Field.
Further development activity is underway across the North Sea median line in Norwegian waters at Tommeliten A, a license operated by ConocoPhillips.
