PERTH, Australia – Finder Energy has completed its acquisition of a 100% interest in license P2317 in the UK central North Sea from Azinor Catalyst.
The concession, in the NW Witch Ground Graben of the Outer Moray Firth, covers a 292-sq km (113-sq mi) area.
It contains Goose, a large, amplitude supported Lower Cretaceous prospect close to the northern flank of the producing Claymore field.
Finder views Goose as ready-to-drill, with potential recoverable resources of 75 MMbbl. There is further potential in the adjacent 85-MMbbl Long Bird prospect.
The company is seeking partners to participate in a planned exploration well on Goose in 2022 or 2023.
CEO Damon Neaves said Finder’s strategy in the UK North Sea is to secure exploration opportunities close to producing fields and infrastructure.
