LYSAKER, Norway – Aker BP UK, a new subsidiary of Norwegian operator Aker BP, has entered an agreement to take a 50% interest from Eni UK in license P2511 in the UK North Sea.
Assuming approval for the transaction from Britain’s Oil & Gas Authority, Eni UK would remain as operator.
The license is close to the median line with Norway. Aker BP operates numerous discoveries in the Alvheim area on the Norwegian side, following an exploration campaign in 2019.
The new partnership aims to explore the resource potential across the UK border in the greater Alvheim area.
