ABERDEEN, UK – Repsol Sinopec Resources UK, Petrofac, and TechnipFMC have formed an alliance to help maximize oil and gas recovery from UK offshore fields.
The partnership will offer owners of oil and gas discoveries near Repsol Sinopec’s North Sea infrastructure hubs an integrated, commercially flexible solution to meet their development objectives.
Petrofac will provide all services associated with topsides engineering and operations support, while TechnipFMC will offer its iFEED front-end engineering and design solution, which combines the SPS/SURF scope to deliver a full field subsea architecture design, and its integrated subsea business model, iEPCI. Repsol Sinopec will provide access to its various North Sea platforms and FPSOs under the industry-led infrastructure code of practice. The aim is to create an all-encompassing offer, from the wellhead to an export route.
José Luis Muñoz, CEO of Repsol Sinopec said: “As an industry we must get better at recognizing the benefits of utilizing existing North Sea infrastructure to maximize the economic recovery of the basin, minimize carbon emissions and transition to a lower carbon economy.”
Nick Shorten, managing director of Petrofac’s Engineering and Production Services, West business added: “With more than 3 Bbbl locked in marginal fields across the UKCS, small pools represent a big opportunity.
“Industry level collaborations such as this, will drive the standardization required to reduce the time and cost of tieback developments.”
