SAN DONATO MILANESE, Italy – Eni has secured a new production license in the UK northern North Sea, under the 32nd UK Offshore Licensing Round.
The 340-sq km (131-sq mi) P2511 license is around 250 km (155 mi) offshore in water depths of 100-130 m (328-426 ft), and close to a series of recent discoveries near the UK/Norwegian median line.
Initial exploration term is six years: Eni UK will operate with a 100% interest.
The company’s current UK offshore production is 55,000 boe/d. Last October, it was also awarded a carbon storage license in the Liverpool Bay area of the East Irish Sea.
