ADNOC says it has increased production capacity at the offshore Satah Al Razboot (SARB) Field to 140,000 bbl/d through implementing digital technologies.
The rise is helping the national oil company meet its target of 5 MMbbl/d from all its projects by 2027.
SARB is 120 km northwest of Abu Dhabi, and the onsite digital solutions allow the field to be operated remotely from Zirku island, 20 km away.
Remote monitoring, smart well operations and production management technologies at the remote control center are helping to optimize real-time decision-taking, and this has enabled the growth in field capacity with reduced costs and emissions, the company said.
It plans to deploy additional artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to further enhance operations.
The technologies in use include tools developed by Abu Dhabi-based AIQ. Its DrillRep and OptiDrill solutions process data from rigs and wells at the field. Through use of daily drilling data reports and rig sensor data, AIQ’s technology provides drilling operations with insights and actions to optimize the drilling process, ADNOC said.
Earlier this month, ADNOC announced its plans to construct a private 5G wireless network over an 11,000-sq km area in the UAE. This will deliver high-bandwidth connectivity across the company’s offshore and onshore operations and help it to integrate its advanced AI solutions at its most remote facilities.
