HAMILTON, Bermuda – Seadrill has secured three-year contracts for rigs in the Middle East from an unnamed operator.
The West Ariel, West Cressida, and West Leda are due to start their respective programs between Q1 and Q2 2023.
Total value of the awards is around $404 million, including mobilization revenue). Once the contracts have started, Seadrill will be operating seven rigs in the region with a further three units on bareboat charter.
CEO Simon Johnson said: “These rigs will add to Seadrill’s strong market share in the Middle East, leading to significant economies of scale by clustering rigs of similar design in a market segment where we see strong signs of recovery and long-term demand.”
