RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil —Petrobras has completed a drillstem test (DST) on the Curaçao discovery well in the presalt of the southwest Santos Basin.
Well 1-BRSA-1381-SPS was drilled between mid-November 2021 and January 2022 in the Aram Block, 240 km from the city of Santos, São Paulo State, in a water depth of 1,905 m.
The DST, conducted six months after the conclusion of the initial drilling period, was designed to assess a thick interval of petroleum-bearing presalt carbonates, with oil samples sent for laboratory analyses. Petrobras applied dynamic production data to determine productivity.
The other partner in the block is CNPC. According to the company, the consortium’s strategy is to maximize use of data in the application of new technology solutions, with real-time processing of acquired data.
The partners plan follow-up evaluations of the extent and commerciality of the accumulation.
The Aram Block was awarded in March 2020 under the ANP’s 6th Bid Round of Production Sharing Blocks.
