PARIS – TotalEnergies has secured operatorship of two blocks offshore Suriname under the country’s SHO Bid Round.
Blocks 6 and 8 are in water depths of 30-50 m (98.4-164 ft), and are immediately south of deeper-water block 58, where the company and partners APA Corp. have discovered four oilfields since January 2020.
TotalEnergies will operate the two new concessions with a 40% interest, alongside Qatar Petroleum (20%) and state oil company Staatsolie (40%). The partners plan a 3D seismic campaign over the acreage.
