INPEX Browse E&P has secured an exploration permit off the northwest coast of Western Australia under Australia’s 2022 Offshore Petroleum Exploration Acreage Release.
Release Area AC22-1, now named AC/P71, is north of the INPEX-operated Ichthys gas-condensate field, which supplies gas to the Ichthys LNG plant. It is also adjacent to the AC/RL7 Retention Lease, which INPEX acquired a 74% interest last year, and contains discovered gas and condensate fields.
AC/P71, covering 920 sq km, is in water depths ranging from 100 m to 300 m.
