The Barossa project's FPSO module integration and pre-commissioning is 86% complete.
Santos expects first gas from its Barossa project in the Timor Sea offshore northwest Australia in third-quarter 2025.
The development is nearing the 80% completion mark, the company said in a results update, with the export pipeline between the FPSO and the Darwin LNG complex now finished.
A third development well has been drilled and completed with better-than-expected reservoir results. Finally, the FPSO is on track to depart for Australia early next year.
Once fully onstream, the field should add about 1.8 MM t/year to Santos’ LNG portfolio.
