ADELAIDE, Australia — Santos Energy says overall construction of its Barossa gas project in the Timor Sea is now at the 67% point, with first gas expected in third-quarter 2025.
The 262-km pipeline taking gas from the field to the Darwin LNG complex is 68% complete with more than 50% of the pipes installed and completion likely during the second quarter.
Drilling is underway of the second of the six development wells, with initial flow rates within expectations and CO2 content at the low end of the anticipated range.
At the integration yard in Singapore, the FPS has 10 of its 16 topside modules loaded onto the hull and is now 80% complete.
Barossa should at peak add 1.8 MMt/year to Santos’ growing LNG portfolio.
