SINGAPORE — Jadestone Energy reinstated production from the Montara oil field offshore Western Australia on July 3.
Operations at the FPSO had been suspended to repair the leak point in the 2C tank and to allow a review by regulator NOPSEMA of the company’s inspection and repair records relating to vessel’s crude tanks.
Oil contained within the 2C storage tank has been pumped to other tanks on the vessel to ensure no threat to the environment. Work on a more permanent repair of the 2C tank should begin in the next few days.
Jadestone also plans a comprehensive inspection and remediation program on the 2C oil tank.
