ADELAIDE, Australia – Gas-liquids production from the Bayu-Undan field in the Timor Sea will likely cease towards the end of this year, according to operator Santos.
The continued decline is in line with expectations, the company said in its latest operational review.
Bayu was discovered in early 1995, when the Bayu-1 well intersected a 155 m gas condensate column, at a depth of 897 m.
In July 1995, Undan was discovered 10km north-west of Bayu, where a 139 m gross hydrocarbon column tested 1.6 million cubic feet of gas a day and 3,900bbl condensate a day.
