HOUSTON – McDermott International has completed work for its first subsea EPCI contract from Santos NA (19-12) for the Bayu-Undan infill well phase 3C project in the Timor Sea.

The location is around 310 mi (500 km) off the northwest coast of Darwin, Australia, and 124 mi (200 km) from the southeast coast of Timor-Leste.

Work on the Phase 3C started in May 2021 and concluded in December. McDermott's scope covered the tieback of a single in-field well to existing production facilities, re-using existing flexible flowlines, flushing to clear hydrocarbons, and installing a new umbilical and other infrastructure.

Local Timor-Leste businesses executed certain components of the work, including concrete mattress manufacture, marine training and provision of personnel on the main installation vessel, the Lay Vessel 108.
