Marine Masters managing installation of Bhasker platforms offshore India
Marine Masters will support installation offshore India of the Bhasker A & B wellhead platforms, designed and built by SunPetro.
ACE Pipeline is the main installation contractor, with Consolidated Support Services PTE overseeing the program.
Both platforms will feature 800-metric-ton jackets with integrated boat landings and topsides.
Marine Masters will perform detailed preparation for lifting and mooring activities, lifting of the jackets and topsides, upending and installation of piles, and subsea and piling operations.
For the campaign, the company has chartered the heavy-lift barge Conquest MB1, which provides a lifting capacity of about 1,400 metric tons, supplemented by two mobile cranes with capacities of 180 mt and 500 mt respectively.
Conquest MB1 is in transit to Mumbai and is due to arrive on March 7. After obtaining inward clearance and completing mobilization activities, it will head to the offshore location in the Gulf of Kutch, 110 nautical miles south of Kandla, India, where it should arrive on March 20.
Installation work is due to be completed by May 15, after which the crane barge will remain in the region, available for other decommissioning or transportation and installation projects.
Offshore cone penetration testing
Last year Marine Masters completed its offshore cone penetration test (CPT) campaign at Sonda de Campeche in the Gulf of Mexico for GDT Offshore S.A. de C.V.
In mid-February 2024, after a period of engineering and preparations, Marine Masters partnered with Geoquip Marine, which delivered equipment and expertise while carrying out necessary testing at three offshore locations. The testing campaign comprised performing several CPT tests at three future wellhead platform locations on the seabed from onboard a dynamic positioning vessel. The operations had to be carried out in close vicinity of an already installed jackup rig, which was carrying out drilling operations.
