Valeura starts up three more oil wells at Jasmine field offshore Thailand
Valeura Energy has completed a five-well infill drilling program on its Jasmine field in license B5/27 in the Gulf of Thailand.
Three new wells have come onstream from the Jasmine D platform, all drilled as producers.
The JSD-42 well, drilled at the crest of the primary objective in the 250 sand reservoir, was completed as a producer within this zone and is flowing oil at rates in line with expectations.
In addition, drilling through various secondary appraisal targets led to five more zones being completed as future producing reservoirs, with further oil-bearing intervals identified for potential infill drilling at a later date.
The JSD-41H and JSD-43H wells were both geosteered across horizontal development infill intervals of more than 2,000 ft MD within the 680-1 sand reservoir, with the aim of more efficiently sweeping oil from the already-producing interval.
Following these and the earlier two wells completed at the Jasmine A platform, oil production from the field has risen by 26% to average 9,801 b/d.
The contracted rig has since transferred to the Manora field on Valeura-operated license G1/48 for five more infill wells.
