JAKARTA, Indonesia – Indonesia’s government has awarded bp two deepwater oil and gas exploration blocks under the second round of the country’s 2021 Oil and Gas Working Area bid round.
The Agung block covers an area of 6,656 sq km (2,570 sq mi) offshore Bali and East Java. The Agung II Block is offshore South Sulawesi, West Nusa Tenggara and East Java and spans an area of 7,970 sq km (3,077 sq mi).
According to bp, this is a little explored region with significant gas potential and a growing local market.
For both blocks, the company will hold a 100% interest.
