SAN DONATO MILANESE, Italy – Eni has secured 90% operated stakes in two new exploration blocks offshore Côte d’Ivoire.
Both are in the eastern part of the Tano basin, where Eni already operates, and cover a total area of about 2,850 sq km (1,100 sq mi).
Block CI-101 is in water depths of 200-2,500 m (656-8,202 ft), 50 km (31 mi) south of Abidjan, while block CI-205 is in 2,000-2,700 m (6,562-8,858 ft) of water, 80 km (49.7 mi) southwest of the capital.
State-owned Petroci holds the remaining 10% shares.
Eni also has a 30% interest in offshore block CI-100, awarded in 2015.
