THE HAGUE, the NetherlandsHague and London Oil has completed its acquisition of North Sea E&P company Third Energy Offshore.

Third Energy’s main interests are 45% of the Greater Pegasus Area in the UK’s southern gas basin and the Andromeda prospect in the same region.

Spirit Energy plans to develop the Pegasus field via a tieback of the Pegasus West well (43/13b-7) to the Neptune Energy-operated Cygnus gas complex.

This would involve installation of an uninsulated 10-in. nominal bore carbon steel production pipeline, and a 180-mm OD electro-hydraulic-chemical umbilical, each around 56.8 km (35 mi) long.

Subsea production infrastructure would include a Xmas tree and wellhead protection structure at Pegasus West and a subsea isolation valve at Cygnus.

Modifications would be needed to the Cygnus topsides facilities to handle processing of the Pegasus West hydrocarbons followed by onward export to the Bacton gas terminal on the Norfolk coast.

Spirit is targeting first gas for late 2021.
