Chevron Corp. (NYSE:CVX) subsidiary Chevron Global Energy Inc. will take 50% working interest in blocks 42 and 45 offshore Surinam in an agreement with Kosmos Energy (NYSE:KOS).

SAN RAMON, California –Chevron Corp. (NYSE:CVX) subsidiary Chevron Global Energy Inc. will take 50% working interest in blocks 42 and 45 offshore Surinam in an agreement with Kosmos Energy (NYSE:KOS).
Blocks 42 and 45 are 155 mi (250 km) from Paramaribo and cover a combined area of approximately 2.8 million gross acres, at water depths ranging between 650 and 8,500 ft (200-2,600 m).
Kosmos will keep 50% and be the operator of both blocks until exploration is finished. Chevron will be the operator following any commercial discoveries.
