Government issues update on UK regulator

Britain’s Chief Secretary to the Treasury Danny Alexander has confirmed the oil and gas industry’s new regulator will be named the Oil and Gas Authority.

ABERDEEN, UK – Britain’s Chief Secretary to the Treasury Danny Alexander has confirmed the oil and gas industry’s new regulator will be named the Oil and Gas Authority.

Its headquarters will be in Aberdeen.

Establishment of a new regulator was one of the recommendations inSir Ian Wood’s report on the UK industry’s future.
