MOSCOW -- Gazprom’s board has approved a program for development of hydrocarbon resources on the Russian continental shelf through 2030.
The company's management committee was tasked to deliver a performance report in late 2012.
Gazprom says over 80% of the hydrocarbon resources are concentrated in the Barents, Pechora and Kara seas, and the Sea of Okhotsk.
Gas and condensate volumes are most prevalent in the Barents and Kara seas. Oil is the main resource in the Pechora Sea, while volumes are split between oil and gas in the Sea of Okhotsk.
The program through 2030 is a strategic document determining the directions for Gazprom’s future activity on the Russian shelf.
Priorities include a comprehensive development of the Shtokman field and its satellites in the Barents Sea, and joint development of the Prirazlomnoye and Dolginskoye oil fields in the Pechora Sea.
Gazprom has further plans for a cluster development involving the Severo-Kamennomysskoye and Kamennomysskoye-Sea fields offshore the Ob and Taz bays; and a comprehensive development of fields in Gazprom's licensed areas in the Sakhalin III project.
The program envisages use of advanced and cost- effective engineering facilities and technologies for field development in severe natural and climatic conditions.
Implementation should allow Gazprom to produce over 200 bcm/yr (7 tcf/yr) of gas (not including output from Sakhalin II) and around 10 million tons of oil on the Russian shelf by 2030.
