BRISTOL, UK – Wessex Exploration has signed an Assurance Agreement for a Production Sharing Contract for the Imlili block offshore Western Sahara with the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR).
The latter is the democratically elected government of the territory, recognized by the United Nations as a non-self governing territory, currently occupied by Morocco.
Wessex holds a 50% operating interest in the PSC, the remainder held by fellow UK independent Tower Resources.
Imlili covers an area of around 16,965 sq km (6,550 sq mi) in water depths of up to 150 m (492 ft). It is between the Bojador block and the offshore Guelta block, where Wessex also holds 50% interests.
