Wintershall takes over Brage oil field offshore Norway

Wintershall Norge has assumed operatorship of the Brage oil field offshore Norway from Statoil.

KASSEL, Germany – Wintershall Norge has assumed operatorship of the Brage oil field offshore Norway from Statoil.
This follows a transaction that involved transfer of equity in theBrage, Gjøa, and Vega in the North Sea to Wintershall at the end of July. As a result, the company has raised its Norwegian production from 3,000 boe/d to 40,000 boe/d.
The company has retained most of the existing Brage platform workforce and recruited an additional 180 employees to support its growing Norwegian operation.
