LONDON – Rockhopper and operator Eni expect to sign a production-sharing agreement later this year for block 9 offshore Croatia.
The signing process with the Croatian Hydrocarbon Authority has been delayed due to the country’s general election last November.
The concession, in relatively shallow water in theNorthern Adriatic gas province, contains the Ksenija discovery and the Klaudija prospect.
Rockhopper anticipates a program of seismic acquisition, processing and re-processing during the first three-year exploration phase, followed by drilling of a well in the second phase if the partners commit to an extension.
To the southwest, Rockhopper has a 40% interest inMalta’s offshore Area 3. Here processing of a 2D seismic survey has revealed number potential leads.
The partners have secured an extension of the exploration study agreement until December, at which point they will decide whether to progress to a production-sharing contract.
