RIO DE JANEIROPetrobras has initiated the opportunity disclosure stage for the sale of part of its interest in exploratory blocks in five concessions in the Espírito Santo basin offshore Brazil.

All were awarded in 2013 under the ANP’s 11th Bidding Round, and are currently in the 1st Exploration Period.

According to Petrobras, the concessions are strategically positioned in relation to the post-salt discoveries Parque dos Deuses, Parque dos Doces and Parque dos Cachorros, and could potentially hold significant volumes of hydrocarbons in both the pre- and post-salt.

Current participation in the concessions is as follows:

ES-M-596_R11 Petrobras (50%) – operator; Equinor (50%) ES-M-598_R11 Petrobras (40%); Equinor (40%) – operator; Enauta (20%) ES-M-671_R11 Petrobras (40%); Equinor (35%) – operator; Total (25%) ES-M-673_R11 Petrobras (40%); Equinor (40%) – operator; Enauta (20%) ES-M-743_R11 Petrobras (40%); Equinor (35%) – operator; Total (25%).

The process of assigning to Petrobras the shares of Equinor and of Total is in progress and should be concluded later this year.

Petrobras has also started the non-binding phase concerning the sale of its 35% operated shallow-water Manati field in the Camamu basin, Bahia State.

The field is 10 km (6.2 mi) from the coastal city of Cairú in water depths ranging from 35-50 m (115-164 ft). Manati started production in 2007, with output last year averaging 105 b/d of condensate and 1.27 MMcm/d of gas through six subsea wells linked to the PMNT-1 platform.

A pipeline system transports the gas initially to an onshore compressor station, then onwards a further 89 km (55 mi) to a processing plant.

Other partners in Manati are Enauta Participações (45%), Geopark Brasil E&P de Petróleo e Gás (10%) and Brasoil Manati Exploração Petrolífera (10%).
