North Sea Triton FPSO exporting production following resolution of compressor issue
Dana Petroleum resumed production Dec. 27 through the Triton FPSO in the UK central North Sea, following remedial work on an export gas compressor.
A phased restart continues of producing and newly tied-in wells, said partner Serica Energy, with gas exports getting underway at the end of December.
The resumption took longer than anticipated. Serica also experienced a period of unscheduled downtime on its Bruce platform in the UK northern North Sea, mainly due to the need for a subsea intervention to sustain reliable production from the satellite Rhum field.
Later in the current quarter, Dana should have restored operations with two compressors at Triton.
Serica added that drilling and completion operations and hookup tasks for the next well in the campaign—EC1 on the Guillemot North West field—have now finished, with the EC1 well set to start producing to the FPSO during this quarter.
The COSL Innovator semisubmersible will next drill the potentially high-impact EV02 on the Evelyn satellite field, with production expected here during the second quarter.
Dana continues its analysis in relation to the repeat issues that have impacted the compression facilities.
