OSLO, Norway – Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) Norway has sanctioned continued operations at the Oseberg Vestflanke in the North Sea.
This has been developed via subsea facilities tied back to theOseberg field center. Under the original development plan approved in 2003, production was expected to finish in 2014.
However, operator Statoil now plans to keep operations going until the end of 2025. PSA’s consent relates to the subsea facilities, pipelines, and control cables.
Lundin Norway also has PSA’s authorization to drill exploration well 26/10-1 in production license PL674 in the centralNorth Sea, 150 km (93 mi) west of Stavanger.
The semisubmersibleIsland Innovator will drill the well on the Zulua prospect.
