SYDNEY, Australia – Oil production from Cliff Head field offshore Western Australia is temporarily suspended pending completion of organic chloride clearing of the system and approval to re-start, says Roc Oil (WA) Pty Ltd.
Crude delivered to the BP refinery was identified as containing the contaminant to trigger the shut-down. Roc says the chloride may have come from chemical treatments during a Cliff Head 12 well workover.
