MILAN, Italy – Production has started from Eni’s Appaloosa field in the Gulf of Mexico.
Production is through a subsea development and a 20-mi (32 km) long flow line tied back to the Corral platform (operated by Eni). The well is flowing approximately 7,000 boe/d.
Appaloosa field is 60 mi (97 km) offshore the Louisiana coast southwest of New Orleans, in 2,500 ft (760 m) of water depth.
The producing well is in the MC 459 Federal Unit (comprising blocks MC 459, 460, and portions of MC 503 and 504). Eni holds a 100% working interest in the field.
This is the second Eni field producing on the Corral platform, which in aggregate is now processing 46,600 boe/d.
