ABERDEEN, UK – First oil has flowed from the TAQA Bratani-operated Falcon field in the UK northern North Sea. Appraisal and development was completed in just under two years, and Falcon is currently producing 10,000 b/d.
The development, the company’s first in the UK sector, is in blocks 210/25 and 211/21, 105 km (65 mi) from Shetland.
It comprises a single gas-lifted production well tied back via a 4.5-km (2.8-mi) flexible flowline to TAQA’s Kestrel subsea infrastructure.
There, output will be mixed with the Kestrel production fluids and transported for processing to TAQA’s Tern Alpha platform. The latter has further capacity available to accommodate other potential field developments in the area.
