LONDON— Block 15-1, the second largest offshore Vietnam, has produced its 400 millionth barrel of oil, according to Perenco Vietnam.
The concession in 47 m of water, 180 km southeast of Ho Chi Minh City, produces oil and gas via the FPSO Thai Binh. Perenco Vietnam has a 23.25% interest in the block, which is operated by the Cuu Long Joint Operating Co., with state oil company PetroVietnam holding a 50% stake.
In addition, Perenco has a 16.3% interest in the Nam Con Son Gas Pipeline Co. The pipeline has transported more than 106 Bcm to consumers in southern Vietnam since startup 23 years ago.
