The North Malay Basin project consists of 10 discovered gas fields located 186 miles offshore Peninsular Malaysia that is tied to a gas terminal onshore.
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia—Hess has started production from the North Malay Basin Phase 3 project in Block PM302, 290 km offshore Peninsular Malaysia.
The company operates with a 50% interest, with the remainder held by Petronas Carigali.
Phase 3, sanctioned in 2019, included installation of the Bergading-B wellhead platform, which adds a further 100 MMcf/d of gas supply from the block, lifting total production to 400 MMcf/d.
