OSLO, Norway – Repsol Norge has permission from Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) to extend the life of the Blane field on the Norwegian/UK median line in the North Sea to July 8, 2027.
Blane is in 70 m (229 ft) water depth in production license 143 BS. The field was developed via subsea facilities and two horizontal producer wells, connected to the Aker BP-operated Ula field center, 35 km (21.7 mi) to the northeast.
Prior to 2019, production involved pressure support from injection of produced water from the Tambar and Ula fields. It is now produced by means of pressure depletion and gas lift.
