GODALMING, UK – Wellhead flowing pressure in the basement Lancaster reservoir west of Shetland may reach the bubble point by the end of 1Q 2022, according to operator Hurricane Energy.
Although the full impact is uncertain, there is the possibility that liberated gas from the reservoir could be produced along with the oil, leading to production being either reduced or ceasing altogether.
Hurricane expects the early production system, via the FPSO Aoka Mizu, to deliver on average 8,500-10,000 b/d of oil between Oct. 1 and the end of March 2022. This assumes improved FPSO uptime (with no maintenance shutdowns) and production from the P6 well alone on artificial lift via an ESP.
